An
American Eastlake Walnut and Burl Walnut Dressing Bureau. This
dresser has a molded broken pediment top joined by relief carved
foliated panel above an elaborate relief arabesque and stippled
crest. The incised dentil and egg and dart molded frieze joins with
shaped and fluted stiles, which center a shaped and molded oblong
frame with a beveled looking glass. The lower chest has a serpentine
rouge marble top above a conforming central drawer flanked by a
small drawer to both sides and two long drawers. The drawers are
made of burl walnut veneers with pierced brass pulls and floral
garland motif. The finish and hardware are original.
